Plastic surgery can take years off your face or make you look gorgeous even after a couple of pregnancies. It's no longer a privilege for celebrities only. The most popular plastic surgery procedures preformed include the following:
Liposuction
Liposuction removes fat from troublesome pockets where exercise can't do the trick. A plastic surgeon will make a small incision and insert a cannula, which is a small hollow tube used to vacuum out the fat from the desired area. You may feel well enough to return to work in a few days depending on the amount of fat removed.
Breast Implants
When women go in for breast implants, the plastic surgeon will place a bag filled with saline solution between the muscle and the breast tissue. This enlarges the breasts and gives them a full appearance. You may return to work after a week, but it is recommended you avoid heavy activity for two to three weeks.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, more commonly known as a nose job, is becoming increasingly popular. Plastic surgeons can do amazing work with noses these days, giving you whatever nose you desire. You may look like you lost a fight with bruising and swelling for a few days, but after a few weeks; you will have the nose and face you have always desired.
Face lift
If you are feeling the effects of age and notice that your skin is sagging and showing wrinkles around your eyes and mouth, you may benefit from a facelift. During a facelift, a plastic surgeon will pull your skin upward toward your scalp, tightening and smoothing it. This gives the appearance of more youthful, smooth skin. There might be a little bruising, swelling, and even numbness in your face, but you should be able to return to work after two weeks.
Blehroplasty
Blehroplasty is more commonly known as eye lid surgery. This procedure lessens the bagginess around your eyes by tightening and reshaping the eyelid. Don't be worried if your vision is blurry for a few days, that is normal. It's also normal to have swelling and bruising for about ten days.
Botox injections
Botox injections are the new lunch-time procedure. They're quick and easy. A plastic surgeon simply makes small injections into areas on the face such as the forehead where the Botox paralyzes the muscles from moving. The result is fewer fine lines and wrinkles and a new appearance of smoother skin. Unlike many plastic surgery procedures, the effects are not permanent and must be repeated every three to four months.
Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, is not as simple as a Botox injection. It is a major surgery for patients with loose and sagging skin and underlying soft tissue left after pregnancy and massive weight loss.
To remove the excess skin and tissue a plastic surgeon makes an incision from hip to hip in the pubic area, separates the skin from the tissue, tightens the soft tissue with sutures and then stretches the skin back into place by removing the excess skin. During this process, the belly button is also repositioned. A full recovery takes as long as three to six months but the results are dramatic.
