Radiant skin is a reflection of good health which begins with your diet. I choose to stay away from sugar which can effect skin, binding to collagen and elastin fibers, breaking down elasticity.
Maintenance is the key to beautiful skin!
Because anti-aging begins with prevention, using a broad spectrum SUNSCREEN daily, rain or shine has been my best friend for the last 25 years along with a healthy diet and daily yoga practice. I began including sunscreen in my regimen at the age of 30 so it's never too late or too early to begin leading a healthy lifestyle. As for skincare products, sunscreen is the most effective anti-aging product. It's all about consistency, following a regimen and allowing it time to work. I'm all about maintenance. Always include SPF, anti-oxidants, peptides and exfoliation as part of your skincare regimen. The only way to see a visible result is to follow a quality skincare regimen which will change the behavior and appearance of your skin. And remember, it is possible to achieve radiant skin at any age.
Common Misconceptions:
No cosmetics should ever be used in place of a good broad spectrum sunscreen. Many make-up companies claim to have an SPF 15 or 20. This is great in theory, but SPF can only refer to UVB blockers. In addition, moisturizers and foundations are absorbed by the skin, so they are by nature less effective at sitting on the skin's surface as sunscreens are. Sun damage doesn't just occur from lying on the beach. It happens all the time; winter and summer, through sunshine and rain. Even fluorescent light bulbs emit UVA and UVB rays that break down collagen and elastin.
