The truth about life is that contentment is very elusive. We all want exactly what we see and give no thought to what that would mean. Everything comes secondary to the need to gain the next phone, the next car, the next job, the next outfit; seemingly, life becomes a race towards the latest craze, fad and style.
This is all a direct result of the pursuit for our wish. Yet, when critically analyzed, the race is truly motivated by a drive to be better than someone else is. This is the mindset and default wiring that we have.
Much of the cosmetic industry is capitalizes on this need, the driving force becomes the wish to be better than others do. It is such reasoning that has in many ways led to the creation of many cosmetic procedures, all aimed at improving what is seen and replacing it with another point of view.
One of the most common factors that drive a person to reevaluate themselves and their appearance is weight. As society has cruelly dictated, the slimmer the individual, the more preferred they are. This is the deceptive rational that is behind many attempts to lose weight.
Once such attempt is liposuction: the removal of unwanted fat from areas where it would normally be deposited in the body such as the legs, thighs, abdomen and upper arms.
This is achieved in many ways including:
- The Ultrasound Aided Liposuction:
This employs the use of ultrasonic vibrations to turn the fat into liquid, making it easier to extract the fat cells.
- The Tumescent Liposuction:
This method involves injecting a liquid solution that numbs the abdomen and thereby assists in preventing lots of blood loss.
- Dry Liposuction:
This method is the direct removal of the cells without injecting the liquid that would help numb the area being operated on.
- Laser Aided Liposuction:
In this case, the fat cells are broken down using a weak laser pulse before the cells are then removed.
- Water-Jet Aided Liposuction:
This involves using a jet to direct high pressure to the cells and separate the fat cells before removing them.
Removal of the fat calls is sometimes not proportional to the weight loss effect evidenced after the procedure. As a result, there tends to be skin that because of the reduced cell volume, hangs from the body. This warrants a tummy tuck, an attempt to hide the excess skin. In this case, the skin is folded and as the name suggests, tucked away in a way that it is no longer obvious that it exists.
This, along with the health risks, time requirements and financial implications, are some of the reasons why it is often emphasized that the procedure be employed only in the event that the regular dietary and exercise approach are unsuccessful.
